Mediterranean Interior Design in Oman

Mediterranean interior design is a style rooted in the coastal regions of Spain, Italy, Greece, Morocco and Southern France. It combines rustic charm with refined comfort — think whitewashed or textured plaster walls, terracotta and stone flooring, exposed wooden beams, wrought iron accents, and a palette of whites, warm neutrals, blues and earthy tones.

At BMTC, we adapt Mediterranean design principles to suit Oman's climate, architecture and lifestyle. Whether you're designing a villa in Muscat, a majlis in Seeb, a café in Qurum or a boutique hotel in Salalah, we create Mediterranean interiors that feel authentic, functional and perfectly suited to your space.

This style is ideal for homeowners seeking a warm alternative to minimalist modern design, businesses wanting a distinctive and welcoming brand environment, and anyone drawn to natural materials, handcrafted details and timeless elegance.

BMTC sources and specifies materials that capture the essence of Mediterranean design while being suitable for Oman's climate and lifestyle. Common materials include:

• Textured plaster & stucco — for walls that add depth and character
• Terracotta & natural stone tiles — for floors with warmth and texture
• Reclaimed or dark wood beams — for ceilings and architectural accents
• Wrought iron — for railings, lighting fixtures and decorative details
• Ceramic & mosaic tiles — for kitchens, bathrooms and feature walls
• Linen, cotton & natural fabrics — for upholstery, curtains and soft furnishings
• Rattan, jute & natural fibres — for rugs, lighting and furniture accents

We advise on the best material combinations for your specific space, taking into account durability, maintenance, climate suitability and budget. Every material is selected to ensure your Mediterranean interior looks authentic and performs well over time.

BMTC is based in Muscat and has extensive experience delivering interior design and fit-out projects throughout Oman. We understand the local climate, building regulations and the unique requirements of Omani homes and businesses.

For Mediterranean interiors in Oman, we adapt the style to suit local conditions — using materials that perform well in heat and humidity, incorporating efficient cooling and lighting, and respecting the architectural context of your property. Whether you're in a villa in Qurum, an apartment in Al Khuwair, a café in Seeb or a hotel in Salalah, we create Mediterranean interiors that feel both authentic and appropriate for their setting.

Our team provides on-site surveys, design consultations and project supervision across all our service areas. We also coordinate with local suppliers and craftsmen to source materials and execute work to a high standard.
