Wallpaper installation on an interior feature wall

SERVICE OVERVIEW

What Is Wallpaper Installation?

Wallpaper installation is the process of preparing a wall surface and hanging wallpaper rolls, panels or murals so that the pattern lines up cleanly and the finish stays flat without bubbles, peeling or visible seams. It is used in Oman for feature walls, bedrooms, majlis rooms, offices and commercial interiors.

BMTC Interior Design & Fitouts provides professional wallpaper installation across Oman for residential and commercial interiors. A good wallpaper job is not just about unrolling paper — the wall must be smooth, dry and correctly primed before hanging, and the pattern drop must be planned so seams and corners line up. We measure the wall, advise on the right wallpaper type (vinyl, non-woven, textured or custom printed), prep the surface and hang it so the finish stays flat and clean. Whether you are refreshing one feature wall in a Muscat apartment or papering a whole majlis in Seeb, we plan the installation around the room, lighting and how the space is used.

WALLPAPER TYPES

Wallpaper Types & Applications

Choose the right wallpaper for the room, the wall condition and the finish you want

Non-Woven Wallpaper

Homes & Offices

Paste-the-wall non-woven wallpaper that is easier to hang, reposition and later strip. Common in bedrooms, living rooms and offices.

Vinyl Wallpaper

High-Traffic Areas

Wipeable vinyl wallpaper suited to corridors, offices, retail stores and cafés where walls need to handle cleaning.

Textured Wallpaper

Feature Walls

Embossed and textured designs that add depth to a wall and help cover minor surface imperfections.

Custom Printed Wallpaper

Murals & Branding

Photo wallpapers and brand murals printed to fit your wall dimensions, used in majlis, cafés and corporate reception areas.

3D Wallpaper Panels

Sculpted Feature Walls

Sculpted 3D panels with geometric, floral and abstract designs used for TV walls and reception backdrops.

MATERIALS

Wallpaper Materials We Work With

Each wallpaper type has its own durability, cleaning and installation behaviour — we help you match the paper to the wall

Non-Woven Wallpaper

Paper-polyester blend that is dimensionally stable and easy to strip. Paste is applied to the wall rather than the paper.

Vinyl Wallpaper

Paper-backed vinyl or PVC-coated wallpaper that wipes clean. Suited to corridors, offices and retail interiors.

Textile Wallcovering

Fabric-backed wallpaper used for premium interiors where texture and warmth matter, such as majlis and hotels.

Printed & Mural Wallpaper

Digitally printed wallpaper made to fit exact wall dimensions. Used for murals, brand walls and photo scenes.

Wallpaper Paste & Primer

Wall primer to seal the surface and the correct paste for the wallpaper type. Both affect adhesion and future removal.

Trims & Finishing Tools

Seam rollers, smoothing brushes, trimming knives and edge trims used to finish the wallpaper neatly at corners and ceiling lines.

WHY WALLPAPER

Benefits of Professional Wallpaper Installation

Why homes and businesses across Oman choose wallpaper over paint for feature walls and full-room finishes

Instant Design Upgrade

A plain wall becomes a feature wall with pattern, texture and colour in a single installation.

Covers Minor Defects

Textured wallpaper hides hairline cracks, small marks and minor surface defects better than paint.

Faster Than Repainting

For a single feature wall, wallpaper is often quicker than full plaster and multiple paint coats.

Wide Pattern Range

Floral, geometric, textured, 3D, wood-look, marble-look and custom-printed designs to match any interior style.

FAQ

Frequently Asked Questions

Common questions about professional wallpaper installation in Oman

What is professional wallpaper installation?

Professional wallpaper installation is the process of preparing the wall surface and hanging wallpaper rolls, panels or murals so that the pattern lines up and the finish stays flat. Correct preparation and pattern planning separate a professional installation from a DIY job.

Is wallpaper suitable for Oman's climate?

Yes, when the correct wallpaper type is chosen for the room. Non-woven and vinyl wallpapers perform well in Oman interiors. Wallpaper is generally not recommended for bathrooms, laundry rooms or fully exposed outdoor areas, and we advise on this during the site visit.

Which wallpaper is best for homes in Oman?

Non-woven wallpaper is common in bedrooms and living rooms because it is easy to hang and later remove. Vinyl wallpaper is preferred in corridors, majlis rooms and high-traffic areas because it wipes clean. Custom printed murals are used for feature walls.

How much does wallpaper installation cost in Oman?

Cost depends on the wall area, wallpaper type, pattern complexity, wall preparation and any custom printing. Vinyl and custom murals generally cost more than standard non-woven. We provide a free quotation after measuring the wall.

How long does wallpaper installation take?

Timelines vary by area and wall condition. A single feature wall is usually done in a day, while larger rooms or full floors take longer because of wall preparation and pattern matching. We confirm an estimated schedule with your quotation.

Can wallpaper be installed over tiles?

Wallpaper needs a smooth, dry, paintable surface. Tiled or heavily textured walls usually need skimming or a lining paper first. We check this during the site visit and advise on the correct preparation.

Can wallpaper cover cracks and wall defects?

Textured wallpaper hides hairline cracks and minor marks better than paint, but the wall must first be repaired and primed. Large cracks or damp patches need to be fixed before wallpaper is installed.

How do I maintain wallpaper?

Vinyl wallpaper can be wiped with a damp cloth and mild cleaner. Non-woven and paper wallpaper should be dusted with a dry or slightly damp cloth. Avoid soaking the wall or using abrasive cleaners.

Can wallpaper be removed easily?

Non-woven wallpaper strips off dry when you pull the top layer, which is a big advantage for rentals and future redecorating. Vinyl wallpaper is also removable but may need a stripping solution in some cases.

Does wallpaper smell after installation?

There is a mild paste smell while the wallpaper dries, which usually fades within a few days. Ventilating the room during and after installation helps it clear faster.

Do you install wallpaper in offices and retail stores?

Yes. We install contract-grade wallcoverings in offices, retail stores, cafés and hospitality interiors where durability and cleaning matter. Branding and logo walls can be custom printed.

Which areas of Oman do you serve?

We serve Muscat, Seeb, Al Khuwair, Ruwi, Bawshar, Qurum, Ghubrah, Sohar, Sur, Nizwa, Salalah and Ibri. Contact us to confirm scheduling for your location.
